From the Jacket Cover
The Christmas Mink brings the spirit of the season alive. In this whimsical collection of Christmas stories and poems from the snowy north woods of New England, see the season in a new light and find the holiday spirit in unlikely places – in Siberia, from the tail of the Christmas Comet, or even your own tree. Join curmudgeonly old woodsmen, a lively bunch of ornaments, a congress of caroling animals, a horde of helpful mice and one grandiose moose in these rousing December tales certain to please both cynic and celebrant alike.
about the author
JT and Marge untangling Christmas Tree lights
My bio on the book cover reads "John-Richard Thompson was born in New Hampshire and raised by minks in an abandoned hunting lodge". Some people have told me they don't believe this. Imagine that... Well, it's true! I'm still in touch with the mink side of my family (the card above was from only two years ago when my half-sister Marge spent the holidays with me. This year my brother Roscoe is planning to stop by to cook a traditional Italian fish dinner on Christmas Eve...even though he is not, as far as I know, Italian. Neither am I. But apparantly the traditional Irish Christmas Eve dinner (boiled potato, shot of eggnog, and a rousing Christmas Carol) hasn't caught on with the mink population.
Here's a video explaining more about my upbringing with the minks
